I am a little late with my review, I went to Brite Clean Smiles about a year ago after getting a groupon for teeth whitening. When I called to make the appointment they encouraged me to get a cleaning first so that the whitening will work better. I didn't feel pressured at all to get it but it made sense to get the grime off before trying to whiten. This was my first time getting a cleaning with a laser but it worked very well and my teeth have never felt cleaner, a little sensitive, but clean. The whitening was very effective. So much so, that I want to go back in to have it again. All of the staff was super friendly and professional. Best part was the outcome was what was advertised.

I got a groupon for teeth whitening and I didn't see any results. Dr. Zak asked me to switch doctors and he will not charge me anything, basically he said he would take a lost and only charge the insurance. I should have realized at this point that he was a shady doctor. In several visits, I had a deep cleaning, a replacement onlay and immediately my tooth started hurting. I thought It might have been due to the fact that he was so rough and careless. I called Dr. Zak numerous times, he asked me come back into the office and talked his way out of everything. He refused to believe that I needed a root cannel. After 2 months of pain and Dr. Zak advising me to use sensodine, I went back to my original doctor (someone who I trust) got a second opinion. I needed a root cannel. At this point Dr. Zak pretty much maxed out my dental insurance for the year. I called my insurance co. he was not in-network (of course he told me he was) this is my fault, I should have checked. At this point I am utterly disgusted by the way Brite Clean Smiles is doing business. Since I felt he was responsible for my problem tooth, I asked him if I can get the onlay redone (after the root cannel), since he was already paid for the service, he told me he would "take care" of me. During my visit, he took a mold of my mouth making it appear as if I was getting a new onlay. I go in for my treatment 2 weeks later and I come to find out he did a filled over the root cannel after he placed a post (screw) into that tooth. I knew Dr. Zak was going the cheap route but I figured an onlay would secure it (but then again I'm not a doctor). 3 months later, the pain comes back. This is a very strange situation since I had a root cannel and essentially the tooth is dead. I went back to my original doctor to find out about the screw and it actually weakened my tooth and I most likely have a fracture in my tooth which is why a crown is necessary after a root cannel. This all made perfect sense to me. I now have to pay for a crown out of pocket which cost $855 and if the pain does not go away, I will need that tooth extracted and an implant will then cost $5000. Dr. Zak screwed me over really bad. I was trying to take short cuts by going to a cheap doctor and I am now paying the price. It now makes perfect sense me to as to why his office is consistently empty and Dr. Zak only works about 2 days a week. I don't understand how people are able to operate a business this way. I believe he only has 5 star reviews on yelp because he is not charging his patients for the (patient portion cost). DO NOT GO TO BRITE CLEAN SMILES. I am going to report him to the CDA and BBB and I will see how far I can take this.
