I havent actually bought this product but since the ingredients are exactly the same as CAN-C, Life Extension Brite Eyes III & Vision Clarity, I thought I would share my research on the OTHER Ingredients in these brands.

On deciding on which BRAND to use, I came up with the following research, which I have chosen to share with you readers :)

As a Disclaimer, I'm not a professional and I don't claim that these descriptions are accurate, but they seem to be.

Overall, looks like all the competitors use the exact same ingredients, which leads me to think that they all use the same manufacturer, since the brand label is a sticker. not inked onto the box like the ingredients. I therefore chose this brand, because of the cost level.

NOTE: If you feel a burning sensation when using these drops, this is more than likely a result of the ingredient Citric Acid (see below).

People are always concerned about the "OTHER" ingredients (as they should be!) and so I thought I might list them with a brief description (via google search).

ACTIVE INGREDIENTS:

Glycerin: stabilizer to maintain pH.

Hydroxypropymethycellulose: The ability of hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose to absorb water is what has led to one of its most common uses -- as a substitute for human eye tear-film. When this substance is added to eye drops or other ophthalmologic aids, it increases the amount of time the drops spend on the cornea by absorbing the water that is present and preventing early evaporation. Theoretically, the longer a lubricant substance stays on an eye, the less irritation suffered. Solutions containing 2% hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose are typically used during orbital surgery to protect the corneas. Read more ›

Brite Eyes III

Details

Brite Eyes III - contains 2 - 5 ml tubes (estimated 1 month supply)

It is recommended for early stage lens clouding. For more developed conditions Can-C eyedrops are recommended.

Brite Eyes III is an advanced topical eye formula protecting the eye lens from free radical damage. It has a unique formulation of lubricants, an anti-glycating agent, and antioxidant ingredients.

With age our eyes are subject to increasing oxidative damage from free radicals, which results from a chemical reaction due to exposure to oxygen and sunlight. The lens of the eye protects the retina, so the oxidative damage occurs there. Free radicals also damage or destroy enzymes that are needed to maintain good cellular metabolism. Free radicals also reduce blood flow and thus the eye is deprived of essential nutrients for health.

Brite Eyes III contains 1% N-Acetyl-L-Carnosine, a naturally occurring antioxidant and anti-glycating agent that can penetrate and protect the lipid tissues of the eye against light damage. Brite Eyes III will help to diminish free radical damage and the harmful effects of glycosylation associated with degenerative eye disease.

Recommended Usage:

The suggested use of Brite Eyes III is to apply 1 to 2 drops in each eye every day. Those with any kind of eye problem may want to apply 1 to 2 drops several times a day. The 5 ml resealable vials allow for a small amount of product to be exposed to oxygen and bacteria at a time. The unopened vials can be stored in the dark in the refrigerator to extend shelf life.

Active ingredients:

Glycerin (lubricant)- 1.0%

Carboxymethylcellulose sodium (lubricant)- 0.3%

Inactive Ingredients: Sterile water (ophthalmic grade isotonic solution, pH 6.3 to 6.5); antioxidants: N-Acetyl-Carnosine (NAC) 1.0%, buffered with borates and potassium bicarbonate and as a preservative, purified benzyl alcohol.
