Harris Stay Brite #8 1/16" Silver Solder

Both Stay-Brite and Stay-Brite 8 produce an overall component with greater strength than a brazed component whose base metals are weakened by annealment from high brazing heat. Stay-Brite solders bond with all of the ferrous and nonferrous alloys. Joints soldered with Stay-Brite solders exhibit considerably higher than necessary elongation for sound, dissimilar metal joints and vibration applications.

Continental United States

UPS Ground is our standard shipping method within the Continental US. UPS Ground requires 1 to 6 business days to arrive after leaving our facility and is fully traceable in route. We cannot ship large packages to PO Boxes so please be sure to provide us with a physical shipping address.

For specific small, low value items such as beanies, gloves, jackets, etc. we do offer US Postal Service Priority Mail for shipments within the Continental US. Due to unpredictable delivery times and the ability to track shipments, US Postal Service Priority Mail is not available for any of our items for which it is not specifically indicated in our shipping rate tables.

For those of you in a hurry we also offer expedited shipping options including UPS Next Day Air and 2 Day. Prices for these expedited services are quoted in our checkout system for you to consider.

Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico

US Postal Service Priority Mail is our standard shipping method to AK, HI and PR. USPS Priority Mail typically takes 5-14 days to arrive to you and is not traceable. Delivery confirmation is included on all USPS shipments and is included in your charge.

APO/FPO Addresses and US Protectorates/Territories

We ship to APO/FPO addresses via US Postal Service Priority Mail, though you may not see it offered at checkout. If this occurs, please contact us for assistance. We can ship nearly all items to you, although some restrictions do apply. Delivery time varies widely from 5-30 days although most items arrive in less than 2 weeks and delivery confirmation is not currently available.

Stay Brite Lead Free Solder 1 lb Spool 3/32" (2.4mm) Silver Bearing

This 1 pound spool of Stay-Brite silver bearing solder solder is a great value for anyone who solders regularly and will bond with any ferrous or non-ferrous alloys. The solder is some of the finest available and used by many professionals in the jewelry industry among many others. It comes in a spool with a solder diameter of 3/32" inch or 2.4mm. The solder is %4 silver and %96 tin with a 430 degree F flow temperature. It has a thousand and one uses, it can be used for items such as, electronics, toys, collectables, jewelry, jump rings, chains and earring parts. The Stay Brite Solder flows at temperatures much lower than the easy, medium and hard solder used in construction of jewelry and it can be used on almost any metal except for aluminum. Because of this it requires very low heating to prevent the burning of stones or glass beads - You can even solder a pivot in a clock with out removing it! The solder will not tarnish and can be used with a regular torch on a very low flame or an electric iron. Providing strength without the distortion and weakening of the base metal caused by high temperature of annealment when brazing. StayBrite also has a high percentage of elongation for sound joints in vibration applications.

I recently soldered a washer on my sight glass fitting (bargainfittings weldless sight gauge ) so I could use an external silicone gasket. Used Harris Stay-Brite Solder and Stay-Clean Flux. After a little practice, I was able to make a clean bond. this stuff is great.

Testing the seal in my kettle (this was installed the hole for my bulkhead/ball valve. I'll be positioning the sight glass as low as possible on the kettle).
